Upcoming Asian Tour for Rain

Korean pop star and actor Rain kicked off his latest tour, “Legend of Rainism,” at the
Saitama Super Arena, Japan, Saturday and Sunday.
Unlike other performances, 27-year-old Rain took another approach,
using an asymmetrical design, contrary to the habitual symmetric stages, with additional blocks and props on one side. Rain’s
agency, J.Tune Entertainment, said that they designed the distinctive look after the singer requested to offer a bit of an
edge.
After concert openers “My Way” and “Touch Ya,” Rain paid homage to the late “King
of Pop” by singing “Billie Jean” and donning the iconic fedora and dance moves. During a recent interview
with the local press about the death of Jackson, Rain explained that the American star was the reason he began dancing as
a young student.
Rain has been dubbed the “king of performance” due to his lavish dance moves, expressions
and amazing stage presence, but at this evnet he showed a softer side with romantic ballads such as “The Thing About
Love” and “My Girl.” This marks the first time the singer squeezed a romantic part into his show.
One
distinctive feature of the concert was that he was backed by a real live band, unlike previous shows in which he performed
over recorded tunes.
Rain will sing in Seoul at the Olympic Stadium, October 9 and 10 and in Hong Kong on December
12 and 13.
Further dates and venues in various countries will be scheduled as soon as dates for Rain’s upcoming
Hollywood movie “Ninja Assassin” are settled. The October show will be the star’s first concert in Seoul
in three years.
